Melina Smart is originally from Northeast Pennsylvania. She had an interest in music at an early age, starting with voice and piano lessons at the age of five. In 8th Grade, the theater bug bit her when she was cast as a lead in her school's musical "Rats: The Story of the Pied Piper". Melina was hooked ever since and determined to turn her passion into a life long career. She is now a lyric soprano (with one heck of a belt!) trained in both classical and musical theater styles of voice. She holds a BA in Theater from SUNY Binghamton in New York and has had the opportunity to study in New York City from many of Broadway´s finest performers and directors such as Bradley Dean, Michael Rafter, Kathleen Marshall, and Seth Rudetsky.
After graduating from SUNY Binghamton, Melina moved to Orlando Florida to start her acting career. She has worked for several entertainment venues and productions companies in Central Florida including Odd-o-T's Entertainment, Universal Studios, Legoland, and Capone's Dinner & Show to name a few. So far the highlight of her career has been obtaining an international contract at
Universal Studios Singapore to open up a brand new show offering as one of her favorite cartoons, Betty Boop!
Even with an extensive theater background, Melina has had a run in the independent film community in Central Florida. She has booked several lead and supporting roles in short film projects, some of which had long term festival runs.
When not on camera or on a stage, Melina hones in on her other many skills. She works as a brand ambassador/promotional model for trade shows and events. You can currently find her at EPCOT as a Product Specialist for Chevrolet. She also is a highly skilled costumer with a LOVE for vintage fashion (Edwardian and Roaring 20’s fashion specifically). She has both stitcher and wardrobe crew experience in university theater shops and Walt Disney World Creative Costuming. Melina can also be booked as princess performer for children's parties. If you have any interest in booking Melina for these skills, please reach out to her directly for more information.
